Mr. Man Honors Pride Month With 'Top 100 Iconic Gay Kisses'

CHICAGO — Male celebrity nudity site Mr. Man has released a new ranking that details "Hollywood’s Top 100 Iconic Gay Kisses" to celebrate Pride Month.

The extensive lineup of man-on-man lip-locks honors performers such as Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in “Brokeback Mountain” — and ranks that kiss at No. 1 — as well as Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet in “Call Me By Your Name” at No. 3 and a kiss shared by Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal in “Y tu mamá también” in the No. 4 spot.

Additional kisses included in the list are from “Making Love” with Harry Hamlin and Michael Ontkean at No. 25, Java and André Reybaz in “Un Chant D'Amour” at No. 74, Jaye Davidson and Stephen Rea at No. 29 in 1992’s “The Crying Game” and Pedro Zamora and Sean Sasser kissing in “The Real World” coming in at No. 10.

Other notables include Alexander Skarsgård and Ryan Kwanten from “True Blood” at No. 2, Jussie Smollett and Toby Onwumere at No. 93 for a kiss in “Empire,” Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet from “Modern Family” at No. 46, and “Glee” coming in at No. 7 for a kiss between Darren Criss and Chris Colfer.

The full list of Mr. Man’s 100 Iconic Gay Kisses can be found here.

In addition to its latest ranking, Mr. Man has published an article titled “A Brief History of Iconic Gay Scenes in Film and Television,” which takes “a good, long, lingering look at some of the brightest spots in gay cinema.”

The article explores actors and personalities who laid the groundwork for representation, such as those in movies and shows like “The Boys in the Band,” “Will & Grace,” “Paris is Burning,” “The Dreamers,” “Angels in America” and “My Own Private Idaho.”

“Ever since the first onscreen kiss between two men in a mainstream film was committed to celluloid nearly 100 years ago — in 1927’s Oscar-winning Wings — gay-themed storylines and love scenes have become ubiquitous in today’s inclusive and progressive modern cinema,” said a company rep. “Judging by the cinematic achievements on this list, we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
